How_to_release_a_plugin

If you have a new plugin that you want to release to the Cytoscape community, you have a few options to advertise it.

1. Send an announcement to the announcement mailing list, which has hundreds of people on it. See ["How to send an announcement"]

2. Ask one of the Cytoscape core team members (via a message to the cytoscape-discuss mailing list) to post information on the cytoscape.org [http://cytoscape.org/plugins2.php plugins page]. It is best for this information to be concise to encourage users to read it. The information can be the same as you used for the e-mail announcement.

Notes:

• You should host your plugin on your own download page so you have full control over the website. Unfortunately, user plugins can't be hosted on Cytoscape.org. If you don't have a website and your plugin is open-source, you can get a free website from sourceforge.net (that includes a powerful open-source software project management system).
