Systems Biology is a rapidly changing field with new technologies, high and low throughput data sources and new types of analyses being introduced constantly. In order to provide biologists with the tools they want to use in a rapid and flexible manner the Informatics Core at the ISB has been working on a system that is services based in order to support rapid development and deployment of new tools; interoperability of tools if a variety of languages; and non-intrusive deployment. As one of the many tools available to Systems Biologists, we discuss Cytoscape as a series of services and show an example of web-based Cytoscape using a variety of services.

Title: Systems Biology Visualizations

Abstract:

Systems Biology is a rapidly changing field with new technologies, high and low throughput data sources and new types of analyses being introduced constantly. In order to provide biologists with the tools they want to use in a rapid and flexible manner the Informatics Core at the ISB has been working on a system that is services based in order to support rapid development and deployment of new tools; interoperability of tools if a variety of languages; and non-intrusive deployment. As one of the many tools available to Systems Biologists, we discuss Cytoscape as a series of services and show an example of web-based Cytoscape using a variety of services.
