Cytoscape Developer Retreat 2005

San Diego - November 30 - December 1st, 2005

The 3rd Annual Cytoscape Retreat will be held November 30 and December 1st, 2005 (Wed-Thurs) at UCSD in San Diego.

Cytoscape is jointly developed by the groups of Benno Schwikowski (Pasteur Institute, Paris), Trey Ideker (University of California San Diego), Chris Sander (Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center) and Lee Hood (Institute of Systems Biology, Seattle).

The meeting will mainly be informal and technically focused with all major Cytoscape team members gathered together to set new directions for Cytoscape, plan new features and collaboratively work on code. Cytoscape related presentations by invitees are welcome. Social activities around the meeting are also scheduled.

Hackathon

November 28 and 29th, 2005, (Mon-Tues) at UCSD, developers will have the opportunity to play with code pre-meeting. If you are interested in taking part in the Hackathon then please contact Samantha Smeraglia (ssmeraglia@ucsd.edu) with your planned arrival and contact details.

Take Interstate 5 SOUTH EXIT on GENESEE AVENUE west. Proceed to the third light at the top of the hill. TURN LEFT onto NORTH TORREY PINES ROAD. TURN LEFT onto NORTH POINT DRIVE and continue until you see a UCSD Visitor Information Center on the right.

• From south of La Jolla

Take Interstate 5 NORTH EXIT on GILMAN DRIVE. TURN LEFT at the light onto Gilman Drive. Continue for about 1 1/2 miles until you see a UCSD Visitor Center on the right.

Travel

Directions Using Public Transportation The San Diego Trolley and the Coaster commuter train do not stop at the Airport. The only public transit available is the Flyer Route No. 992, a Metropolitan Transit System bus that travels between the Airport and downtown San Diego, stopping between Terminals 1 & 2 and the Commuter Terminal. The 10-minute bus service to and from downtown connects with Trolley, Coaster and Amtrak stations and is wheelchair accessible.

San Diego is a much smaller city than Chicago, but there is still plenty to do, not forgetting the beaches of course (there are 3 nearby).
